Batik...
Hot wax is applied to the fabric with a tjanting tool or brush
to preserve areas of colour. The fabric is then immersed for dyeing. This process is repeated to make layers of different colours.

This is a familiar bound resist technique. Fabric is tied
tightly so that some areas and not coloured in the dye bath. The process may be repeated to build up layers of overlapping colours.
