Reactive H Liquid Dye
Use On... All natural fibers.
About Them... Formally known as Procion H Dyes, these are a Fiber Reactive Dye (a similar base as our famous Opulence Dyes except they must be reduced
with chemicals and water ("chemical water") before they are used. They have the same excellent resistance to light, washing and dry cleaning as the other Fiber Reactive Dyes. Colours may be intermixed,
the primaries are Brilliant Yellow, Fuchsia and Turquoise. Dyes will keep one year if the Sodium Carbonate or Sodium Bicarbonate fixer has not been added, four weeks after it is added. Store dyes in a
cool dark place.
How To Fix Them... Air dry 48 hours then steam for 15 to 30 minutes. Use
TNA Detergent in the final wash to prevent the dyes from back-staining.
Great Because... You have absolute control over the strength of the colours...simply mix more dye into the chemical water for stronger colour, less
for pastels.
What You Will Need... Urea, Ludigol, pure water softener and Sodium Bicarbonate, (Sodium Carbonate for Black), to make the "chemical water" base for
the dye colours....OR take the simple route....use our Packaged Premixed Chemicals,
all you have to do is add a liter of water....couldn't be easier! See Dye Chemicals for ingredients. Add Sodium Alginate to the Chemical Water to thicken the dyes for printing, silk screening or controlled painting, see Thickeners. And to put it all together see our Instructions.
What It Can Do... Every surface application you can think of, all those for silk painting and all of the printing techniques too!
