Setasilk Silk Paint
Use On...
Silk or wool...also on cotton, linen, rayon or polyester.
About Them...
Setasilk is manufactured by Pebeo of France. It is made of finely
dispersed pigments and resins that flow well on silk. The luminous colours mix easily to make palette of rich or refined shades. Wash fabric before painting.
How To Fix Them...
Let dry thoroughly, then iron with dry heat to fix. Dry Iron the reverse side for at least 3 - 4
minutes. We have found the iron setting should be hotter than the recommended silk setting...be sure to keep the iron moving to avoid scorching the fabric. Wait a week before hand washing or dry
cleaning.

Great Because...
It's so easy to use and fix, a great alternative to traditional steam fixed dyes. The colours are
radiant. These water based paints contain no solvents and are odorless. Clean up with soapy water.
What It Can Do...
- May be used for all silk painting techniques, serti (resist), salt swirl, watercolour blending and surface application "batik". It is also great for the sun painting technique and an excellent choice
for painting our Silk Twill or Crepe De Chine Men's Ties.
Getting Started...
You'll want to stretch the silk over a frame for the silk painting technique. Other than that just
a few dyes and a brush or two will get you started. Pebeo has a flyer showing basic techniques, coloured examples and a colour chart that is yours for the asking with your order.
