Wax Resists
Beeswax...
Used alone, it will produce a solid resist, no dye will get through. It is generally mixed with 50% paraffin (available in your local grocery store) to produce the distinctive crackle effect of batik.
Paraffin used alone is very brittle, it cracks and falls off the fabric. To make a wax resist with no crackle use 70% beeswax and 30% paraffin. Do not exceed temperatures of 260° F. Our beeswax is
top quality refined wax.
