Advanced Marbling Base...
Advanced marbling base is a powdered cellulose derivative. After it is mixed with water, ammonia and water softener (if necessary), it becomes a base to hold the floating marbling
colours. The Base and the marbling colours should be at the same temperature before beginning.
Mixing the Base...
- Advanced Marbling Base is ready to use in about 45 minutes. It is important that the directions are followed meticulously.
- Use 25 gr. (3 ½ level Tbs.) of the powder per 4 liters (1 gal) of lukewarm soft water.
- If your water is hard add 1 tsp. of pure water softener per liter of water before you add the powder. Stir to dissolve.
- Add the powder slowly to the water, stirring rapidly. When all the powder has been added continue stirring until completely dispersed (about 5 minutes).
- Now, and not before, slowly add 5 ml (1 tsp.) of clear household ammonia for each gallon of water.
Continue stirring for 5 more minutes.
- Stir intermittently for 30 minutes.
- Stir again for 3 minutes. The marbling base is ready to use.
Note...
- It is important to mix batches no larger than two gallons at a time.
