Reactive MX General Tie Dye Information

About the dye...

    Reactive MX will dye all natural fiber. It is a professional permanent dye. Dyed fabric may be washed or dry cleaned.
    These directions are for Tie Dyeing. See separate instructions for immersion dyeing or making surface application solutions and pastes.

    Use rubber gloves to protect hands and a disposable dust mask when handling powders. Do not use dyeing utensils for food preparation. Keep dyes away from toddlers, pets and unsupervised children.

  • Immersion Tie Dye Method
    Each colour is dyed in a separate dye bath, creating a rich interchange of colour and design. Colours are dyed from the lightest to the darkest.
    Rainbow Tie Dye Method
    Also known as direct application dyeing. Many different colours are painted, squirted or sprayed on the fabric to make rainbows of colour.

Equipment...

  • Use plastic buckets for the immersion method, glass or plastic containers for the direct application method.
  • Glass or plastic measuring cups.
  • Also measuring spoons, stirring sticks or rods,
  • A dust mask and rubber gloves.

Fabric Preparation...

    Wash cotton thoroughly with detergent in hot water, rinse well and dry.
